SYA awarded $25,000 to bring leadership initiatives to other communities

The Scanlon Foundation established in 2001, with the mission to ‘enhance and foster Social Cohesion within Australia’. It aspires to see Australia advance as a welcoming and cohesive nation particularly related to the transition of migrants into Australia Society. The Foundation makes grants to improve social cohesion within the culturally diversified communities within Australia. Through its community support, the Foundation aims to address and overcome the barriers that confront the diverse communities to sustain social cohesion.


SYA has been running youth leadership initiatives within the Sikh community for the past 11 years. SYA successfully submitted an application for the Community Grant to offer Leading Self to Significance project that focuses on bringing PX2 to migrants and other community groups within the Parramatta and Blacktown areas.
