SYA’s Green Action Day!

The Eco Sikhs movement (www.ecosikh.org) encourages young Sikhs around the world to work with their local communities to improve the environment in which they spend their day to day life. To this end, youths from Sikh Youth Australia, teamed up with Eco Sikhs to spread the message in Australia.

Working with Blacktown City Council Bush-care Coordinator Justine Clarke, the Sikh youths helped to clear more than two hectares in the popular Nuringingy Reserve.

This was an inaugural event for SYA’s Green Team and its members are looking forward to promoting green activities in the near future.

May I ask why your “green” or “eco” movement, whatever you may wish to label it, is exclusively associated with sikhs. How can you possibly link these two things, and make them exclusive for your own group of people. Why are you encouraging sikhs exclusively to do this, as I think that it is a height of ignorance to expect, in the relative scheme of things, that 0.39% of the world’s population (this is, and may be incorrect, assuming that you will spread this “movement” to the wider sikh community, and not just exclusively your clan) will fix the many issues associated with climate change.

Are you actually motivated and concerned about doing something for the environment, or is it more to enhance your ego…
If you are in fact doing this to help sustain the environment in general, do you not believe that it would be far more effective to get more people involved, opposed to your small, and somewhat exclusive community.

I am intrigued by your actions, as a group, in general, and they portray sikhs, such as myself, to be isolationists. You are all ignorant and deluded, and fail to understand the basic principles for how this problem can be fixed.

I could easily leave my name and email, but this is not purely my views, they are also the views of other members of the wider sikh community.
